Thank You (And Keep More of your Money)

Thank You. I want to thank each of you for your confidence in me as your School Board Commissioner from 2008-2010. I have kept my word on my self-imposed term limit and I have worked diligently to remain faithful to my promise to you ...

Keep your money. During this 2010 tax season, I found this survey by USAA interesting. Why ANYONE would give the IRS an interest free loan is beyond me. Taken another way, you are putting money into a savings account that pays no interest. Go to this IRS link here and figure your withholding.


Are you expecting to get any money back when you file your taxes this year?




Your vote Yes, hopefully a big refund.

46.6%

Your vote Maybe a little.

28.7%

Your vote It could go either way.

7.4%

Your vote I’ll probably owe a little.

Your vote No way. I’m going to owe big.

The average taxpayer refund in 2009 was $2,683, according to the IRS. That may sound good, but it also means taxpayers who got a refund gave the government on average an interest-free loan of about $220 each month for 12 months.
